Stace Wills has over 25 years experience in helping launch and accelerate emerging Canadian technology companies. Stace is Vice President, Energy at Innovate Calgary, where he co-founded the Kinetica Ventures energy tech accelerator and the KICS Innovation Lab at SAIT, as well as managed Innovate Calgary’s equity portfolio of University of Calgary spinout companies. Stace has been actively involved with numerous Innovate Calgary start-ups, including having served as Interim CEO of Direct-C Ltd., a pipeline leak detection company.

Prior to Innovate Calgary, Stace served in senior corporate development roles with Elluminate Inc., an educational software company that was acquired by NASDAQ-listed Blackboard Inc. in 2010, as well as Alta Genetics Inc., a global ag-biotech leader in the dairy sector. He was also a co-founder of venture capital firm, Accolade Capital Inc., where he managed the Accolade Private Companies Fund LP.

Stace is a co-founder and Board Chairman of The Strongest Oak Foundation, a Canadian-registered charity that provides solar energy to off-grid villages in West Africa. Stace has also served on the Board of TSX-listed Helix BioPharma Corp, a biopharmaceutical company developing drug candidates to treat lung cancer. He has a Chartered Investment Manager designation, as well as a B.Comm. degree from the University of Calgary.
